Job Summary:

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) who is also an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist (OB/GYN) will lead and oversee all clinical and administrative aspects of the hospital or medical facility. This role combines expert patient care in obstetrics and gynaecology with strategic leadership, ensuring high-quality healthcare services, compliance with medical standards, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Responsibilities (OB/GYN):
  • Provide comprehensive care for women, including prenatal, antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecological services.
  • Conduct deliveries, caesarean sections, gynaecologic surgeries, and other specialized procedures.
  • Diagnose and manage obstetric and gynaecologic conditions, including infertility, menstrual disorders, and reproductive health concerns.
  • Counsel patients on family planning, reproductive health, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical doctors, nurses in OB/GYN procedures as well as other healthcare personnel for effective patient management.
  • Administrative Responsibilities (CMD):
  • Lead and manage all medical staff, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, medical protocols, and ethical standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic medical programs to improve patient care and hospital performance.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local and national health authorities.
  • Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning for clinical departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical performance, patient outcomes, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the hospital in external medical, professional, and community engagements.
  • Drive continuous medical education and professional development programs for staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent).
  • Completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Fellowship or advanced training in obstetrics, gynecology, or maternal-fetal medicine is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in hospital administration or leadership role.
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, medical ethics, and hospital operations.

  • Excellent clinical and surgical skills in OB/GYN.
  • Strategic planning and leadership abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate a multidisciplinary medical team.
