Job Summary:
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) who is also an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist (OB/GYN) will lead and oversee all clinical and administrative aspects of the hospital or medical facility. This role combines expert patient care in obstetrics and gynaecology with strategic leadership, ensuring high-quality healthcare services, compliance with medical standards, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Responsibilities (OB/GYN):
- Provide comprehensive care for women, including prenatal, antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecological services.
- Conduct deliveries, caesarean sections, gynaecologic surgeries, and other specialized procedures.
- Diagnose and manage obstetric and gynaecologic conditions, including infertility, menstrual disorders, and reproductive health concerns.
- Counsel patients on family planning, reproductive health, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical doctors, nurses in OB/GYN procedures as well as other healthcare personnel for effective patient management.
- Administrative Responsibilities (CMD):
- Lead and manage all medical staff, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, medical protocols, and ethical standards.
- Develop and implement strategic medical programs to improve patient care and hospital performance.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with local and national health authorities.
- Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning for clinical departments.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical performance, patient outcomes, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Represent the hospital in external medical, professional, and community engagements.
- Drive continuous medical education and professional development programs for staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent).
- Completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Fellowship or advanced training in obstetrics, gynecology, or maternal-fetal medicine is an advantage.
- Proven experience in hospital administration or leadership role.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, medical ethics, and hospital operations.
