Job Description
As an Early Years Teacher you are responsible for the holistic development of children usually aged 0–5. They plan engaging, play-based lessons, observe and assess progress, and ensure a safe, stimulating classroom environment while maintaining strong partnerships with parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lesson Planning: Create age-appropriate lesson plans and daily activities incorporating creative arts, movement, and play.
- Child Development: Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Assessments: Regularly observe, document, and track each child's developmental milestones and progress.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a secure, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment while proactively ensuring health, safety, and safeguarding protocols.
- Parental Communication: Update parents on their child’s daily routines and developmental progress through regular feedback and conferences.
Core Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related discipline. Often, an additional PGDE or Montessori/EYFS certification is required.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching in an early years setting, typically ranging from 1 to 5 years.
- Soft Skills: High levels of patience, warmth, creativity, and strong classroom management capabilities.
