Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in dining, kitchen, and communal areas.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and catering equipment.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock.
  • Support with laundry and general housekeeping duties as required.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Provide friendly and respectful service to residents, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Support the care team by assisting with non-clinical resident needs where appropriate.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful towards people living with disabilities.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality, catering, housekeeping, cleaning, or general assistant role will be advantageous.
