Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming server chassis shipments against bill-of-materials checklists 
  • Mount 2U server chassis into rack positions following A+B power feed separation standard 
  • Execute 72-hour Hardware Acceptance Test (HAT) burn-in protocol on each chassis 
  • Perform hot-swap node card replacements during live maintenance windows without disrupting adjacent nodes 
  • Maintain physical spare parts inventory and conduct scheduled physical inspections 
  • Maintain a complete rack register: chassis positions, slot assignments, asset tags, and maintenance history. 


Requirements:

  • A minimum of an HND  in electrical/electronic engineering, computer engineering or related discipline 
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in server hardware installation, rack-and-stack or data centre physical infrastructure Direct experience with enterprise-grade server hardware — mounting cabling
  • PSU management
  • Familiarity with structured cabling standards and rack elevation documentation
  • Methodical and detail-oriented
  • Able to execute multi-step physical procedures precisely without supervision


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with custom or alternative-architecture server hardware (non-x86)
  • Exposure to BMC console interfaces or IPMI
  • Experience in a Tier-II or Tier-III classified data centre environment
  • Basic knowledge of data centre power distribution, PDU types, and A/B feed principles
