About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent HR graduate to gain real-world experience across recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, reporting, and people technology while working alongside experienced HR professionals in our Meat Market business. The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a business-led initiative, in partnership with government and labour, that creates meaningful economic opportunities for young people and helps address South Africa's youth unemployment challenge. Through this 12 month programme, successful candidates gain valuable workplace experience, develop practical skills, and build a strong foundation for future career growth. This role offers an excellent platform to learn, contribute, and make a meaningful impact while gaining exposure to a broad range of Human Resources practices in a dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the recruitment process including job posting, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
• Assist with the onboarding of new employees, ensuring a smooth and welcoming induction experience.
• Contribute to employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
• Maintain accurate HR records and assist with HR administration tasks.
• Assist in preparing HR reports and analysing data to support decision-making.
• Support the implementation and use of people technology systems and tools.
• Collaborate with experienced HR professionals to learn best practices and develop practical skills.
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and employee experience.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and labour legislation.
• Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed.

Qualifications

• A recently completed degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong interest in developing a career within Human Resources and gaining practical workplace experience.
