About Pula:

At Pula, we are building the systems that enable farmers worldwide to access insurance, using technology to insure this previously uninsured worldwide. We work in over 10 countries across Africa and Asia, and by 2022, have facilitated crop insurance cover to over 20 million farmers, 40% of which are women, across Kenya, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, Uganda, Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, Zambia, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Tanzania, Mozambique, Ethiopia and Malawi. We are a for profit company, and have raised over $45 million from leading venture and institutional investors as well as developed philanthropic relationships with private foundations and bilateral donors such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and German Insure Resilience Solutions Fund that have accelerated investments in our target markets.

Pula is proudly fast paced, constantly learning from the challenges we face and overcome. We are proudly culturally diverse but united in our ambition of continuous high-performance. By challenging ourselves we believe that we can overcome the hard problems we love solving.

At Pula, our culture is defined by our:

  • Obsession with results: We are responsible for our future and therefore we get things done!
  • Ability to connect the Dots: We continuously identify different customer needs & business problems and build solutions that deliver value.
  • Our can-do Attitude! We dare to do things differently to make things work.
  • Ability to have each others’ back: We look out for each other & we share high quality, timely feedback that makes us better.

Why This Role Matters:

The Field Operations team delivers seasonal execution of farmer sensitization, registration, profiling/data services, client training, and Crop Cutting Experiments (CCE) — the critical yield measurement surveys that underpin index-based insurance payouts and product validation.

As Senior Field Coordinator, you will be the regional lead responsible for hands-on delivery in your assigned area. Reporting to the Field Associate Manager, you will directly supervise Field Coordinators/Supervisors and Field Agents/Enumerators, ensuring flawless protocol adherence, high data quality, timely execution, and strong stakeholder relationships in remote rural settings.

You will spend the majority of your time in the field — conducting spot checks, back-checks (minimum 20% of samples), audits, on-site coaching, troubleshooting, and direct quality enforcement. Your work directly determines whether accurate, verifiable yield and registration data reaches the server on time, enabling reliable insurance payouts and client trust.

This is not a desk-based supervisory role — it is intensive, field-heavy leadership where your presence, rigor, and ability to motivate teams under real-world constraints make the difference between success and rework.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Team Management & Development
  • Project & Activity Oversight
  • Quality Assurance & Field Monitoring
  • Stakeholder & Operational Coordination
  • Reporting & Compliance
  • Additional Responsibilities

The Right Candidate Will Have

  • 3–5+ years of progressive experience in field-based supervision of enumerator/supervisor teams in agriculture, rural data collection, insurance, or development programs.
  • Proven track record leading farmer registration, profiling, yield measurement (Crop Cutting Experiments), and digital data collection at regional scale.
  • Strong hands-on quality assurance skills — experienced in conducting spot checks, back-checks, audits, and real-time issue resolution in remote areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and hold field teams accountable under tight seasonal deadlines and challenging conditions.
  • Excellent field logistics, problem-solving, and communication skills in low-connectivity, rural environments.
  • Comfortable with extensive rural travel, long field days, and working “on the go” (managing calls/emails despite limited power/network).
  • Intermediate Excel and digital tool proficiency (advantage).
