Job Description
To ensure optimal performance of heavy-duty equipment by carrying out electrical repairs and maintenance in a safe, cost-effective, and quality-driven manner.
THE JOB
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults on heavy-duty machines such as forklifts, cranes, excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers, container handlers, and trucks.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on PMS, AGO, and battery-powered equipment.
- Conduct routine, preventive, and scheduled electrical maintenance.
- Diagnose and fix starter motors and alternators.
- Utilize CAT Electronic Technician and SIS tools effectively for fault diagnosis.
- Carry out regular electrical inspections in line with best maintenance practices.
- Promote autonomous maintenance through consistent electrical checks.
- Maintain accurate documentation and generate service reports.
- Use basic computer applications for reporting and record-keeping.
THE PERSON MUST
- Have strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in heavy equipment electrical systems.
- Be detail-oriented with strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage heavy workloads.
- Possess good knowledge of safety practices in electrical maintenance.
- Be proactive and capable of working with minimal supervision.
QUALIFICATION
- 5 O’ level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings.
- Alternatively, NABTEB, City & Guilds, or WAEC Technical certification.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in heavy-duty equipment electrical maintenance.
